This is my first venture into Blog-land, but I have been reading my friend’s blog for quite a while now, and I love to check in to see photos and narratives about her life. It makes our long-distance friendship seem closer, somehow. It also makes me miss her like crazy sometimes.
In this blog, I hope to explore my new life here in the Lehigh Valley in Pennsylvania. I moved here two years ago, and it’s slowly growing on me. I live 1.5 hours away from Philadelpha, NYC, and the Jersey shore, and an hour from the Poconos. I live here with my new husband of only 5 months. We have two lovely Great Danes, one who is aging gracefully (mostly) at 9 years old, and the other who acts just like a teenager at 5 years old. They are my matching set and the source of much of what is good in the world.
I love to knit, and will hopefully regale you with my successes and failures, but I’m hoping they’re mostly successes, of course. I’ve been knitting for 3 years now and it’s a bit of an addiction. We shall not mention my yarn stash, as my husband might be reading this. I am also rekindling an old love — ceramics. I just bought a potter’s wheel and am on the hunt for a used kiln so we can convert a small part of the garage to an artist’s studio for yours truly. I am just beginning yoga classes, so that is a new adventure for me, as is the quest to start a family with my husband. And finally, I am a college professor at a small college in central NJ, so I shall occasionally gripe about the commute, rejoice in a career that I love, and appeal to your sympathy in my more exhausted moments.
I will do my best to post lots of photos. Of dogs. And husband. And friends. And knitting. And pottery. And dogs again. Because they’re just so damn cute.
So here we go. I’m hoping that this might be a way for me to stay in touch with my friends and family, who are currently spread out all over the world, as well as to perhaps make some new friends with common interests in all things of horrifying beauty and beautiful horror.

Nice. Now I can stalk you from the privacy of my library.
I like to peek in on the lives of others, so post daily.
And then, also, in the meantime, stop by for a glass of wine, dammit!
Sweeeeeeeeeeeet. I have my very first stalker. And she offers me wine too! Man, life is hella-good.
Hooray! Photos! You and Ishi are adorable. He’s a tough boy and a survivor, he looks great!
Any knitting photos will be drooled over by me as well.
(Although I get so fed up with my own projects – sometimes I just want to be able to sit down with something for 2 days and just finish it!)
Happy First day of Spring !! It is a great time for new beginnings (which we all need). I loved reading and I am glad that you are doing it. I would start one but probably just get myself in trouble with the stuff I would write
Hope to see you in person sometime soon. Take care
But I SO drool over your knitting skillz, T! Yes, I spelled it with a Z, because you’re just that good. I’m going to post some knitting photos tomorrow, I think. Of my super cool cleaves sleeve. It’s pretty and soft and ice blue and quick to knit up. And it will cover my cleavage and arms when I FINALLY get to make some cute lil’ flirty sundresses for the summer.
Come on, summer. Let’s go already!
T,
I know you to be nothing but a troublemaker of the best sort, so I encourage you to express yo’self, sister!
